Perfectstroke Aim Index Pro

The Perfectstroke Aim Index Pro is a golf putting training system that helps to provide structure and purpose to putting training.
The Perfectstroke Aim Index Pro and Perfectstroke Aim Index are available in imperial and metric versions that provide accurate aim predictions for different length putts on varying slope amounts for green speeds from 9 to 14 Stimp.
The difference in the Aim Index Pro and Aim Index is that the Pro version has more detail as it provides aim information on six slope amounts rather than three.

Players can practice putting from set distances on various slope amounts and green speeds that enable them to gain knowledge and experience about how much putts actually break and where to aim.
This knowledge and experience can then be taken to the golf course to greatly improve outcomes leading to more holed putts, less three putts and lower scores.
The Aim Index Pro is a one Stimp only model that shows aims for four different putt lengths at six different slope amounts varying from 0.5%, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3% slopes. It is also available in Stimp speeds from 9-14 and can be purchased individually or in sets.
The Perfectstroke Aim Index has been produced for tour professionals and elite level amateur players where scoring ability matters. It will also enable amateur players and golf enthusiasts to become much better putters.
The Perfectstroke Aim Index system utilises clock face position references with zero break line being from 12 o’clock to 6 o’clock. Putting from the direction of 12 o’clock would mean a player is putting downhill and putting from 6 o’clock is uphill. Anywhere to the right of 6 o’clock putts break from right to left, 5 o’clock being uphill and slightly right to left. A putt from a 2 o’clock position would be right to left with some downhill with this putt and putts from 10 o’clock likely to break the most.
The Perfectstroke Aim Index Pro is available in imperial and metric versions meaning that the distance of a putt will be indicated as being either in feet or metres and the ideal aim shown as inches or millimeters.

The Perfectstroke Aim Index Pro can also be used as a phantom cup on the practice putting green or on course. Players can also place the Aim Index over an existing hole angled relevant to the Zero Break Line in order to set the appropriate putting positions relative to clock face positions.

Using the Perfectstroke Aim Index –

After deciding which Aim Index is appropriate for the green speed conditions of the surface that a player is going to practice on, a player’s next step is to choose a hole to putt to or use the Aim Index itself as a phantom cup.

One thing that is important to keep in mind is that there is only one slope amount that is needed to be estimated or measured and that is the fall line or zero break line amount. There is no need to estimate or measure the side slope amount because using the clock face system means the side slope amount has already been allowed for.

If the area around the hole appears to be uniform in the amount of slope they can then measure or estimate what that slope amount is. They can then refer to the Aim Index to determine where the aim should be based on the green speed,the slope amount, distance from the hole and the position of the ball relative to a clock face.

The player will then need to find the zero break line for that hole location where putts that are hit uphill or downhill will roll straight. If the area around the hole appears to be uniform in the amount of slope they can then measure or estimate what that slope amount is. They can then refer to the Aim Index to determine where the aim should be based on the green speed,the slope amount, distance from the hole and the position of the ball relative to a clock face.

A player could also read a putt and determine that with the green speed at 10 Stimp, a distance of 9 feet and the putt being slightly uphill and right to left based on what they feel and see, that they are playing from a 5 o’clock position with a 1% slope. They can then refer to the Aim Index which shows that they should be aiming 1/4″ outside the right edge of the hole for this putt. If a player felt like a putt was slightly downhill with a little right to left from 9 feet on the same green speed they can assume they are at a 1 o’clock position with a 1% so the aim would be 1/2″ from the right edge of the hole.
If a player felt like the fall line slope was moderate for any putt they can use the 2% setting on the Aim Index to refer to and if the fall line or downslope was to look, feel or measure as steep refer to the 3% settings.

All of the numerical aim measurements in both metric and imperial versions are from the right or left edge of the hole. There are aim references for generally short distance putts that are not outside the hole and they have abbreviations on the Perfectstroke Aim Index. The abbreviations are LE and RE – (Left Edge and Right Edge), IL and IR – Inside Left and Inside Right) and CL and CR – (Center Left and Center Right). The holing speed of putts has been calculated as 200-400mm (8-15″) past the hole.

The Perfectstroke Aim Index Pro is available in 9,10,11 12 13 and 14 Stimp speeds in either metric or imperial measurements.
